OUTREACH
I work closely with colleagues from the U.S., Greenland, and Denmark to co-lead of the Joint Science Education Project (JSEP) and the Joint Antarctic School Expedition (JASE). JSEP is a three-week polar science field course in Greenland that brings together high school students and teachers from Greenland, Denmark, and the US. JASE is a collaboration with the Chilean Antarctic Institute's Expedición Antártica Escolar, a one-week trip to King George Island, Antarctica for high school students from Chile and the US. For more information about these program, please visit the website and check out students' multi-lingual tweets @JSEP_GL @EAE_JASE.

Outreach is such an important part of being a researcher, especially in the Arctic. The above flyer is one example of an outreach project that I created for the town of Kangerlussuaq, where local residents were always stopping to ask what I was doing with my various scientific contraptions.
